You definitely need the skills to back up the attitude, but confidence and a sense of purpose go a long way (and sprinkle in a little bit of ego). Software engineers are a dime a dozen these days and most of us have all the skills in your list. Rock stars differentiate themselves by cultivating that "I can do anything" attitude and not bowing down like some little servant to the demands of others. In other words, they ask a lot questions that begin with "why".
